Interpretations

This English source video is interpreted into ASL by a variety of interpreters.  This provides an opportunity to see interpreters at various points on their professional paths and see different ways to convey this information.  Each of the interpreters create two interpretations.  The first one they did with only this amount of information for preparation:

Jenny Van Sickle who works for a Community action Agency in Duluth, Minnesota, describes the variety of programs the agency works on to support access and equity for people with transportation. She also describes the advocacy work being done to make policy changes related to transportation.

After this first attempt, the interpreters create a second interpretation where they have more understanding of what text is about. Finally, they provide some reflections on their work – recognizing that this is just a snapshot in time.  We are extremely grateful to everyone who was willing to share their work with this project.

Before viewing any of the interpretations, interpret the text.  This will help focus your attention to see what challenges you face and then how other interpreters handle those challenges.
