Por qué mi abuelo es mi héroe

Admiraba a mi abuelo.

Why my grandfather is my hero

I look up to my grandfather because he was such an important person. A few years ago, my grandpa passed away. He was from Mexico. When he died, I went to his village in Mexico for his funeral. I was puzzled to find the village empty and quiet.  There was no activity at the is small, the stores and houses where families live.

I wondered why and then I found out that all of the village people who live there were grieving. The streets were closed and there were a march and music on the day of funeral. I discovered from my family that my grandfather made a huge change in village.

The reason was that these villagers were already poor. He thought about how to help them succeed so he decided to hire two people each other year. They must do errands in the house, to clean, and to do other things. In return they would get paid and the lodging would be free. The purpose behind this was teach them how to budget their money for two years. When two years expired, my grandfather would hire other two more, and he would repeat each other year as to give everyone in the village the same opportunity.

Secondly, since the village is very small, there is only one police. A doctor and a dentist are a hour drive away. My grandfather contacted people to come here to provide the service related to the village industry in return for the free boarding. I was impressed with how many different things he did. Even for those who didn’t have home, he took them in if they were young.

My grandfather truly made a difference and that in turn had an impact on me.
